Rest gives the headphones a place that is not the desk, the chair, or the floor. A walnut base, an aluminum stem, a curved wood rest — the cans sit up, the cable stays off the work.
It is a small object. Put it next to the mat, not in the middle of the keyboard. Reach for the headphones; put them back. That is the whole motion.
